- Extend vectorcraft-geom::shapes with clean-room open/pie/chord/arc ellipse and rectangle builders, per-corner radii, polygon/star corner rounding and deterministic vertex randomization, logarithmic/Archimedean spiral divergence and inner radius, and perspective/isometric 3D box face builders.
- Isolate 3D Box and customizable shape parameters as a VectorCraft add-on under crates/*/src/**/addons/:
- crates/tools/src/addons/box3d.rs (Box3dTool and CustomShape extras stored under Node::extras["vc-shape-tools"])
- crates/engine/src/cmd/addons/shapes.rs (addon.shapes.rectangle, addon.shapes.ellipse, addon.shapes.polygon, addon.shapes.star, addon.shapes.spiral, addon.shapes.box3d, and addon.shapes.configure)
- crates/ui-egui/src/addons/shapes.rs (Object > Plug-ins > 3D Box > 3D Box Tool and context-sensitive Control bar options)
- Keep crates/engine/src/cmd/create.rs, crates/tools/src/shape.rs, and crates/tools/src/draw2/family.rs byte-for-byte identical to main.
- Add translations for "3D Box" and "3D Box Tool" across all 26 .tsv catalogs in crates/ui-egui/src/i18n/.
Review of #5694 asked for two changes.
Add-on, not a core tool, as Enclosing Lasso is:
- The command is addon.contour.set, in an add-on module of its own
(crates/engine/src/cmd/addons/contour.rs) with its tests beside it.
- The tool is listed under Object > Plug-ins > Contour and under its own
"Contour" heading in All Tools. It has no Basic or Advanced toolbar
slot and no default shortcut. The Contour bar is unchanged.
- The add-on drawer test lists Contour with the other add-on tools.
- Docs (mcp.md, the parity documents, ROADMAP) say add-on and use the
new command name; mcp.md gains a Contour add-on section.
Translations: rows for "Contour", "Contour Tool", "Sharp", "Bake" and
"Turn the Contour into plain paths" in all 26 catalogs ("Round" and
"Square" already had them). Drafted from each catalog's own vocabulary
(for Bake, the verb it uses for Expand Appearance; a word other than the
catalog's Stroke or Path word for the tool's name where they collide);
they are not native-speaker reviewed.

addon.select.byArtboards {artboards, relation} in a new Selection Tools
add-on. Overlapping is All on Active Artboard's test, now one shared
helper (select::on_artboard); Fully inside is within one artboard, edges
included; Fully outside is on none. Objects are those Select All takes.

A built-in Type Tools add-on (Object › Plug-ins › Type Tools › Text Tweaker…,
`addon.type.textTweaker`): size, baseline shift, rotation, horizontal or vertical
scale, tracking, leading or stroke weight go from a start value to an end value
along a straight ramp, an ease, a bow, a spike or at random with a seed, set as
the Character panel sets them, while the text stays live. One undo step, a
dialog with Preview, catalog rows in all 26 languages, docs/mcp.md and the
parity docs.

A built-in add-on in Object › Plug-ins › Arrange Tools (#4830, #4831, #4832, #4833, #4834):
- addon.arrange.grid lays the top-level selected objects out in rows and
columns, a row or a column (stacking order from the back, visual bounds,
each object centred in its cell), from the selection's top-left or
centred on the artboard.
- addon.arrange.swap swaps two objects' bounds centres, and with `size`
their widths and heights.
- addon.arrange.replace puts a copy of the topmost selected object centred
on each of the others, in its stacking place, kept, stretched or fitted
in proportion; the replaced objects are deleted unless `keep`.
- addon.arrange.size gives each selected object an exact width and/or
height about a reference point.
- addon.arrange.zoomSelection (a UI command) fits the active view to the
selection.
Places and sizes are measured as object.setBounds measures them (its
transform, now also available per object), strokes scale as Scale Strokes
& Effects says, each command is one undo step, and Arrange in Grid,
Replace with Top Object and Set Size of Each open previewed dialogs.
Catalog rows, command sweep cases, docs/mcp.md, parity docs and the
ROADMAP progress log.
A built-in add-on under Object › Plug-ins › Smart Pen:
- The Smart Pen Tool draws and edits Bézier paths without switching
tools: a click adds the next segment straight or curved (a panel
toggle; Tab flips the segment being placed or the last one), a drag
makes a smooth point (Alt breaks the handle, Shift snaps to 45°, Space
moves the point), a curve after a straight segment joins it tangent.
- On existing paths it selects and moves points, removes a point keeping
the shape (Alt-click), toggles smooth/corner (double-click), drags
handles, reshapes a segment by dragging it and inserts a point on it
(Alt-click); it closes, continues and joins open paths.
- The Smart Pen panel: next segment straight or curved, remove points
keeping shape, make smooth, make corner, retract handles, close or
join.
The tool stays out of both toolbars as shipped; the All Tools drawer
lists it under the add-on's heading. Commands are addon.pen.*; the
existing Pen tool, commands and menus are unchanged.
A built-in add-on under Object › Plug-ins › Path Precision Tools:
- Anchor Eraser Brush: painting over selected paths removes the anchors
under the brush that the outline can do without within a tolerance,
refitting the handles beside them (Alt ignores the tolerance, Cmd/Ctrl
deletes without refitting, pen pressure can scale the brush); one undo
step per stroke.
- Extend Path tool: dragging an end of an open path carries it on
straight, by stretching its last curve or along the circle it curves
on, or shortens it back along itself.
- Measure & Inspect tool: drag to measure distance and angle; hover a
path to read segment and path length, area, curvature, tangent and
anchor angles and handles, in the document's units.
- Anchor Inspector panel: the selected anchor's position and handles as
numbers, with Make Smooth (auto-smooth rule), Make Corner, Equalize
Handles, Remove Points Keep Shape, Add Points and three ways to close.
- Add Points at Crossings and Split at Crossings.
The tools stay out of both toolbars as shipped; the All Tools drawer
lists them under the add-on's heading. Commands are addon.pathtools.*;
the existing commands, tools and menus are unchanged.
A built-in add-on in Effect › Color Effects and Object › Plug-ins › Color Effects:
- Exposure (stops of linear light, offset and gamma), Desaturate and
Invert Colors as live colour adjustments, evaluated in stack order with
those of Effect › Color Adjustments.
- addon.color.filter applies any colour adjustment to the colours
themselves, through the Edit Colors pass, as one undo step.
- A panel picks an adjustment and its values, then adds it as a live
effect or applies it as a filter.
The add-on lives in its own modules (effects, engine and ui-egui addons
folders) and leaves the existing effects, commands and menus as they
were.
A built-in add-on under Object › Plug-ins › Artwork Cleanup:
- Simplify Anchors (Keep Shape) removes anchors while the outline stays
within a tolerance, optionally keeping sharp corners.
- Document Health Check finds and fixes 16 kinds of problems in the
selection or the document (stray points, duplicate and collinear
anchors, tiny handles, nearly closed paths, needless groups, compound
paths and clipping groups, unpainted and invisible objects, duplicate
objects, art off every artboard, empty artboards…), with Show, Fix
Selected and Fix All, each fix one undo step.
- Deep Ungroup and Rejoin Path Pieces.
The add-on lives in its own modules (pathops, engine and ui-egui
addons folders) and leaves the existing commands, tools and menus as
they were.
