Loading styles placed every definition in a loop of uses, and everything that used one, in one group and tried the product of all their candidate names under one cap of 256. Separate loops multiplied: nine self-referencing patterns, each in the document under its name and as a numbered copy from an earlier load, gave 512 combinations, none were tried, and a repeat load added more numbered copies. One loop with no candidate stopped every other loop from matching.

The loops are now the strongly connected components of the uses among those definitions. Each loop is matched with its own search and cap, and a definition that only uses a loop is placed after it, with the loop's names known.
