Orbit TV 0.2.0 — review notes
Changes
Top navigation: 1 Menu / 2 TV Guide / 3 Box Office. Menu includes Services. OrbOffice has an original perforated admission-ticket design and two selectable fictional events. Barlow and Barlow Condensed are bundled for new sections; OFL notices are included in the APK and source. Proper logo work is deferred. Paul wants it centred with safe padding in the TV's app tile.
Validation
- Final Android debug build, unit tests and lint: passed.
- Four Kotlin scheduler tests: passed; five backend scheduler tests: passed.
- Android lint: zero errors, nine warnings (seven available-version notices, orientation and backup advisories).
- APK signature verified and signing certificate matches the installed 0.1.0 build.
- Fullscreen video and bottom programme-bar source compared with the original source ZIP: unchanged.
- Fonts inspected with fc-scan; FigCraft font report confirms Barlow and Barlow Condensed available with the project-local font loader.
- Design previews regenerated and visually inspected. VectorCraft conversion reported no warnings.
- New code reviewed for focus return, navigation/back paths, local asset loading and playback preservation.
Hardware evidence and limits
Paul confirmed 0.1.0 loads on his Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen: remote navigation, channel selection, fullscreen playback and the bottom programme bar work. The 0.2.0 APK has not been installed on the box yet. Preview PNGs are design mockups, not captures of 0.2.0 running on the TV. No Emby integration or event playback is implemented. Tickets represent fictional events. No device, VPS, service or firewall changes were made in this increment.
Next TV check
After approval, update the existing app with the 0.2.0 APK. Check all three tabs, Menu → Services, Back navigation, switching event ticket previews, and returning to the guide. Recheck fullscreen playback. Use design/open-design.sh to open editable FigCraft files with the included fonts available.
