Orbit TV 0.88.0: Vortex, Heroes, Orbit X, Rewind and ToonZ identities
Configuration only, on the existing scheduler with 0.87.0's block rotation. Lists and blocks in ChannelIdentities.kt; editorial reasons in docs/channels.
Catalogue checks (read-only copy of the box's catalogue, 3 November 2026)
- Justice League Unlimited: no separate series. Justice League has 91 episodes, which is its 52 plus Unlimited's 39.
- Biker Mice from Mars: present, 65 episodes, now core on Orbit X.
- Power Rangers: in the library as "Power Rangers" (1993). G.I. Joe: "G.I. Joe" (1983). Both added; the old names stay.
- Digimon: "Digimon: Digital Monsters" is the show; "Digimon Adventure: (2020)" is a remake and isn't added.
- ToonZ: Dastardly & Muttley and The Pink Panther (1964) found under those spellings and added. Merrie Melodies is most likely inside Looney Tunes' 985 shorts (not confirmed). The Bugs Bunny Show is absent. The Tom and Jerry Show and Woody Woodpecker exist only as 2014 and 1999 series and aren't added.
- Pokémon (1997) added to Vortex.
Replay
Five weeks of hourly top-ups from the box's real pools, plans and progress for all 30 smart channels, starting from the committed plans, compared with the same run on today's setup. New titles the box hasn't read yet used real copies where another channel holds them (Regular Show 238, Gravity Falls 8, a thin copy) or the public episode count (Power Rangers 145, G.I. Joe 95, Pokémon 276, Dastardly & Muttley 17, The Pink Panther 124).
Every channel, first full week (from 11 November): no gaps, no programme outside its block, no episode out of order, no fallbacks, no episode twice in the week except ToonZ's Looney Tunes Show (as today). Committed plans unchanged in every top-up. No show on two channels at once (today's setup had 2, Batman on Vortex and Heroes).
Four weeks, new against today:
| Channel | Core share of airtime | Episodes repeated within 7 days | within 3 days | within a day | Shows unaired in week one |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vortex | 35% (22%) | 0 (0) | 0 (0) | 0 (0) | 6 short suggestions (7) |
| Heroes | 60% (42%) | 143 (218) | 41 (87) | 0 (26) | 5 short series resting (6) |
| Orbit X | 85% (58%) | 38 (79) | 0 (79) | 0 (25) | 2 (3) |
| Rewind | 70% (28%) | 158 (64) | 61 (64) | 0 (0) | 0 (0) |
| ToonZ | 67% (49%) | 298 (82) | 288 (82) | 0 (30) | 1 (9) |
- Vortex: no adult anime before 23:00, films only at Friday and Saturday Movie Night, Toonami's hour resumes after each film.
- Shows unaired are short series resting after their run, waiting for the longer shows (the finish-together rule).
- Rewind and ToonZ repeat more within a week because their core shows now air more. ToonZ is the outlier: Looney Tunes' 985 shorts hold every block's round open, so smaller shows rest for long spells while Tom and Jerry and the Jetsons come round again within the week. Variants tried (Looney Tunes in its own hours, core at teatime only) were worse. Fixing it needs a scheduler decision, such as the Phase 2 separation rules.
Unit tests: 333 passed, including Vortex Movie Night precedence and late-only adult anime, the five channels' blocks, and core shows airing more than supporting ones. Lint passed. Not installed.
Installed on the box 3 November 2026 at about 13:45 with Paul's OK, while Orbit ran in the background (the install closed it). Plans change only when Orbit next opens.
