Classic programme strip — 0.5.0

Paul reports that 0.4.0 loaded the sample and played provider media on the Xiaomi box. He requested removal of the persistent top banner and an original bottom programme strip in the existing Orbit colours, inspired by his supplied historic TV-guide reference. He explicitly approved visual-only functionality for the bottom icon row at this stage.

Presentation

  • A pale header with Orbit Preview and the current device-local time/date.
  • Blue NOW/PAUSED and INFO rows, with the selected title, media type and duration.
  • A plain footer with channel up/down arrows, a back/guide icon and CC/subtitles.
  • No coloured remote-key shortcut boxes and no codec/container diagnostics in the overlay.
  • Five-second auto-hide during active playback; paused/buffering states keep the strip visible.
  • OK reveals the strip. When it is already visible, OK toggles play/pause.
  • Left/right and media rewind/fast-forward seek ten seconds; up/down reveal the strip.
  • Physical Back keeps the existing return-to-sample behaviour.

The icon legend is a visual prototype: channel switching, its guide action and the subtitle selector are not wired up in this pass. The stock Media3 controller is hidden so it does not compete with the requested design; the new legend does not claim to implement those actions. The standard subtitle/audio settings UI from 0.4.0 is therefore not shown in this visual revision. No media/session/authentication behaviour beyond the controller presentation is changed.

Remove the cream/white outer CRT cabinet outline and pale feet. Retain the dark cabinet, curved gold screen, small grille/controls, gold Orb, white Office and tightened stub spacing. The edited logo remains separate artwork; the app's Box Office page has not been redesigned.

Verification

Run Android build, existing 31 unit tests and lint. Render and inspect FigCraft mockups and logo artwork. This UI-only increment does not add implementation-mirroring tests. On hardware, check that the native view receives the remote keys, the strip disappears after five seconds, OK restores it, the text is readable, and Back still returns to the sample. PNG previews are design mockups with original abstract artwork, not provider screenshots.
