# Orbit TV prototype verification — 31 October 2026
|
|
|
|
Project: /home/pauljd/Documents/Codex/orbit-tv
|
|
Target for manual testing: Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen (not connected).
|
|
|
|
- Final Android debug APK build: passed.
|
|
- Android schedule tests: 4 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped.
|
|
- TypeScript compilation and scheduler tests: 5 passed, 0 failed.
|
|
- HTTP smoke test: health and guide 200; invalid count 400; missing route 404; POST 405. Temporary process stopped.
|
|
- Boundary mutation: intentionally rounding slots up made the backend tests fail; original logic restored and tests passed.
|
|
- APK signing verified with apksigner (debug certificate, APK signature v2).
|
|
- Media probe: original silent local test signal, 1800 seconds.
|
|
- FigCraft mockup: rendered and visually inspected; editable native file has 63 nodes.
|
|
- VectorCraft wordmark conversion: no import/export warnings.
|
|
- Final code review: corrected stale programme detail on half-hour rollover, paused playback outside guide,
|
|
added playback error/retry handling and actual player elapsed-time overlay, moved banner to drawable-nodpi.
|
|
|
|
## Limits
|
|
|
|
APK has not been launched on hardware or an emulator. Remote focus, playback decoder behaviour,
|
|
preview/fullscreen switching and resume timing require Xiaomi acceptance testing in README.md.
|
|
The design PNG is a mockup, not a screenshot of the running Android app.
|
|
No Emby performance or compatibility claim has been tested. No VPS or media library was accessed.
|
|
No project commit, deployment, TV pairing, firewall change or persistent service was created.
|
|
|
|

- DiscouragedApi: Fixed screen orientations will be ignored in most cases, starting from Android 16. Android is moving toward a model where apps are expected to adapt to various orientations, display sizes, and aspect ratios.
|
|
- DataExtractionRules: The attribute `android:allowBackup` is deprecated from Android 12 and higher and may be removed in future versions. Consider adding the attribute `android:dataExtractionRules` specifying an `@xml` resource which configures cloud backups and device transfers on Android 12 and higher.
